Union Contract Signed and Effective Now!

The UECE 6424 contract has been signed and, by now, should have been distributed to the majority of members. If you have not yet received your copy, ask your site leader for one.

In addition, we urge all members to become familiar with the new contract. Many things have changed and it is crucial for you to know your rights as well as your responsibilities as a Union Member.

We will also be posting the new contract on the website as well so feel free to check it out on-line too.

We stand in solidarity with teachers, fire fighters, nurses, construction workers and many others under attack by governors and state legislators. Heads up Michigan, it may be Wisconsin now, but look over your shoulders because those winds of ignorance are blowing east.

Devastating Cuts To Head Start Are Proposed

We all know Head Start is program that helps many children and families who may slip through the cracks otherwise. These families are low-income and, in most cases, have little to no other oppurtunities available to them.  With the change in Congress, in order to help balance the budget, they are debating about cutting funds to the Head Start program. This may mean our children and families who we serve today may not get the opportunity to benefit from such a great program in the future. It could also mean many of us may find ourselves searching for new careers. Please read the article and sign the petition below!

We are extremely excited to announce the "Grand Opening" of the UECE Union website. There has been much effort put forth to develop a forum where all members can receive vital information and important communications, to be on the same page at the same time. Another huge advantage of our Union website is the flexibility of retrieving information at your leisure.
